I have stayed at the Delta Kitchener many times, the stay is always nice, the food is good and the service is excellent.
This stay was very different from my previous one a few months ago, the menu has shrunk considerably, I have to pay for parking and the complimentary breakfast is no longer available. These were some of the "perks" of staying at this hotel, which will no longer be my first choice when staying in Kitchener.
The bed was so comfortable I slept just like I was at home. I could adjust the temperature of my room - it was too warm. The bathtub was also luxurious.
The only frustration was trying to get the clock alarm and clock setting to work. Front desk told me that maintainance staff would need to take the back off the clock to set the time.
The restaurant was a pleasant surprise. I was most pleased with the quality of the food and the serving size. Service was very slow but the good food made up for all that.
My stay at the Delta Kitchener was abhorrent. The guests (over 8people) in the room next to me pounded on my door until 4am when the police finally came to remove them. No one at the front desk acknowledged my dilemma or offered to move me to another room despite my phone calls to the front desk. At the checkout time I was still charged a full rate for my room despite the conditions and obvious lack of sleep and comfort. I have meetings scheduled monthly in Kitchener and have decided that it is best to commute back and forth to Toronto rather than run the risk of a no-class, small town mentality of service. ABSOLUTELY APPAULING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your complaint procedure makes it cumbersome to complete and is obviously in place to ignore real issues such as the situation that I experienced. I followed their 'in-house' procedure and I have still to hear from anyone despite their promises to do so. I am running a training program in Kitchener for 50individuals and we are now looking to set them up in alternate hotel.
That the indoor pool had a large window above it so there was natural light. The staff upgraded us to a deluxe room due to the fact we were travelling with small children.
It was clean and comfortable, and there were many shops and restaurants within walking distance
I was a little unhappy about the parking situation - I can deal with paying $10 for an overnight stay (even though I had read parking was included), but you had to walk through a dark alley to get from the parking structure to the hotel. Better lighting, and especially some kind of staff presence in that area, would have been nice at night.
The Room was extremely clean and the bed was unbelievably comfortable. Best I've seen in a hotel. Will definitely come again and look into the Delta chain more often when travelling. We arrived on a Motorcycle so it was great to be able to park it and walk downtown everywhere. Perfect location.
The staff was very friendly and happily accommodated me when I checked in early. I also received a complimentary upgrade because they were oversold for the festival. I only stayed for one night but I have always liked Delta hotels and stayed at Deltas on a regular basis when travelling for business in past years.
It was a great experience-parking was close and complimentary. Hotel King sized bed was wonderful so comfortable. The staff were so accommodating and friendly..Pizza in the lounge was good and not expensive at all.I Would go there anytime.
Room was very nice and clean, location was good and parking was convient. Cheers Chris Funkenhauser
We loved staying at the Delta, very clean and comfortable room. Very friendly and helpful staff. I really liked the gel pillows and ordered two to be delivered to our home in Calgary from Kitchener Waterloo. Upon our arrival home from our trip to Ontario, a message awaited us to state that the pillows ordered from Kitchener Waterloo were also available at the Calgary Delta South for purchase. We contacted Mr. Tremblay to make alternate arrangements to acquire the two pillows here in Calgary and Mr. Tremblay even went as far as delivering the pillows himself on his way home, saving us money on delivery cost and time which was very much appreciated. Mr. Tremblay went well above his required duties. A big thank you goes out to Mr. Tremblay for providing excellence in service to the Calgary Delta South customers. Sincerely, D. We did not realize that an antique car show was held on Fridays which made the access to the hotel very difficult especially when not familiar with the area. The 10 minutes trip from the airport to the Delta Kitchener Waterloo was extented to at least 30 to 45 minutes as a result.
Bed was absolutely awesome.
"Dated"...even with apparent renovations, hallways were dated and chipped, doors were old, with multiple coats of paint, caulking in bathroom was poorly done, bathroom was so small the toilet had to be mounted on an angle. The shower was too small (easy remedy of curved shower curtain...???). Price was way to high for what I got.
The rooms were updated, there was enough to do to keep our 7 year old occupied.
The front desk staff were not very accommodating, the hallways need renovating and cleaning-there were metal shavings in the hallway on the rugs, the games room and the bowling and mini putt need renovating and updating.
Location - close to the Communitech Hub digital media accelerator centre
We were there for the wedding of our niece and enjoyed it very much
The bed and bedding were very nice
Parking too far from lobby and you had to pay for it
